Appointments

Booking Your Appointment

Our appointment system aims to provide enhanced patient convenience, with reduced waiting times and higher quality consultations.

The nature of our work means patients may not be seen exactly at appointment time, but we always endeavour to do so. Delays are usually due to a patient requiring extra time, or an emergency, so please try to be considerate.
To Book an Appointment please either Phone us @ 0449384244 or attend the clinic’s reception in person

Types of Appointments

Appointment Length: Our routine appointment system is based upon a fifteen minute consultation. Certain types of consultation will require longer appointments so please ask at the reception if you would like to discuss more than 1 or 2 medical problems or you need gynaecological examination with ultrasound.

Certain procedures have to be pre- booked with a nurse and the doctor at the same time. There will usually be primary consult with the doctor to explain and guide you through the procedure at first. These would include Mirena fitting, moles removal and joint injections.

Routine Appointments: Please use these for non urgent problems or to follow up a pre-existing condition. Our receptionists may ask you questions regarding the nature of your problem to be able to allocate the best time for you. All information given remains confidentia

Urgent Appointments: If you need to see a GP urgently please emphasise this while making an appointment. Please do not leave urgent problems for the evening and try to contact surgery as soon as you need to see a doctor.

2nd Family Member Appointments: Separate appointments must be made for each family member who wishes to be seen. If you have booked a visit, but suddenly need your child to be seen as well, please report this at the reception on your arrival.
Bringing a child to a consulting room and requesting a “quick check” will result in referring you back to the reception desk to book a separate appointment and making you have to wait longer to be seen.

Cancelling Your Appointment

If you have booked an appointment it is very important to let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel it. (Preferably at least 24hours in advance)
To cancel an appointment please either phone us on 0449384244 or inform the reception staff in person.

By telling us in good time that you cannot keep an appointment, we can offer your appointment to someone else. This helps us to reduce waiting times and means everyone can be seen sooner.

Missed / Late Appointments: The practice is run on an appointment only basis, so we would greatly appreciate if you could arrive on time for your appointment. Please keep in mind and plan for the travel time and arrive 10 minutes ahead of your visit time. Being late for your appointment may result in rescheduling the appointment.

Arriving for your appointment:

On your arrival please CHECK IN at the reception. This is important that we know that you have arrived. We pass the message to the doctor that you wait and you should be called shortly afterward.
On your way out always CHECK OUT even if there is no fee to be paid. The receptionist may need to ask you to sign a form or arrange follow up appointment.

Emergencies:

Life Threatening Emergencies:
In a life-threatening emergency such as sudden severe chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of power in a limb, loss of consciousness or severe bleeding dial 112 or 999 to request an ambulance.

Injuries:
We can treat minor injuries at the surgery like stitching small cuts or dressing wounds. If the injury is more severe or you think you might broke a bone then you should attend the local A&E Dept. In the event of poisoning or an overdose, then please contact your nearest A&E department, as soon as possible.
